Race and Racial Ideologies Working Group
The Race and Racial Ideologies Working Group provides an informal intellectual community for graduate students from all disciplines, departments, and stages to share projects at any stage of completion that engage with epistemologies of racialization and ethnicity.
Abolition + Carceralities Study Group
The Abolition + Carceralities Study Group is a space for graduate students, fellows, instructors, and faculty to convene and discuss our works in progress, commiserate about challenges associated with an abolitionist approach in academic research, and explore, exchange emergent modes of abolitionist praxis.
Centering Race Consortium (CRC) Race & Pedagogy Workshop
Funded by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, RITM leads the Centering Race Consortium (CRC), a collaboration with the Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in America (CSREA) at Brown University, the Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity (CCSRE) at Stanford University, and the Center for the Study of Race, Politics, and Culture (CSRPC) at the University of Chicago.
In 2024-2025, the CRC hosted events, seminars, a Pedagogy workshop series, Arts and Practitioner Fellowships, Humanities Labs, in-person meetings, and two major conferences. In October 2023, our center hosted the Reimagining the University: Race and Freedoms Conference. Watch the conference here.
