Tierra joined the University of Chicago in 2015, initially serving as an administrative assistant in the Institute for Molecular Engineering before transitioning to the Student Affairs Coordinator role. In this position, she managed student registration, course enrollment verifications, and curriculum items, while organizing various student events. In July 2019, she became the Program Administrator at the Center for the Study of Race, Politics, and Culture (CSRPC), where her passion for race and gender studies aligns with her work.

Tierra holds a BA in Communications from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring Chicago's culinary scene, attending Afrobeat dance classes, traveling with friends and family, and managing her own hair business.

She lives by the quote, "Making your mark on the world is hard. If it were easy, everyone would do it. It takes patience, commitment, and comes with plenty of failure. The real test is not whether you avoid failure—because you won’t—but whether you learn from it and choose to persevere."
