Anaga has worked in nonprofit communications for over two decades. Previously, she served as a Strategic Communications Specialist at the Chicago-based Health & Medicine Policy Research Group, where she led social media, press, and marketing efforts.

Originally from India, Anaga moved to the Chicago area in August 2019 after spending the majority of her career in New York. She began as an intern at The Nation magazine, followed by a role as Associate Editor at Ms. Magazine, focusing on women's organizing and international news. Anaga was an Editor at MDRC and worked nearly a decade as a communications consultant for the United Nations Development Programme.

In New York, she held the position of Head of Information and Communications for the Coalition for the International Criminal Court, revamping outreach strategies for a global advocacy organization. Additionally, as Managing Editor at the Center for Reproductive Rights, she advanced messaging around women's rights and contributed to a crucial report on the forced sterilization of Roma women in Slovakia, which led to legislative changes.

Anaga holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Barnard College and pursued a Master’s in Comparative Literature at Columbia. She resides in the northern suburbs of Chicago, where her daughter will start high school, and her son recently completed his third year at the University of Chicago.
