Alexa Cinque
CSRPC Residential Fellow
Alexa Cinque is a fourth-year doctoral student at the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. Broadly, her research examines the spatial manifestations of the carceral state and centers community perspectives toward furthering anti-carceral and liberatory praxis. Using critical mixed-methods, she studies both policy interventions and community experiences. Her dissertation leverages GIS and interpretative qualitative methodology to explore the spatial relationships between historical disinvestment, criminalization, and contemporary urban investment in Chicago and how community stakeholders make place under these conditions. Alexa holds an AM in social work from Crown as well as a BA in psychology from the University of Michigan.
